I have a family of laughing kookaburras that visit my own garden. This is a painting I have done using one of my own reference photos taken of the youngest kookaburra in the family who I have named Frances. I loved the look of the linen against the kookaburra colours so decided to keep the linen background plain and just focus on the kookaburra.
Painted in acrylics with two coats of satin varnish to protect the painting. Framed in raw Tasmanian oak, this painting is ready or hang or with the depth of 5.5cm it can also sit on a shelf.
The painted area is 20 × 20cm. Including the frame it measures 23 × 23cm
