Two Australian laughing kookaburras.
The "laugh" that laughing kookaburras are known for is actually a territorial call but the name inspired me to put together this composition and the light hearted idea of one laughing at the other. Maybe one is telling the other a joke or they are sharing a funny story of their adventures?.....
I have laughing kookaburras that visit my own garden and it is from my own reference photos that I have drawn these kookaburra characters. Drawn with artist quality coloured pencils on acid free hot pressed water colour paper.
