My original illustration was done in coloured pencil and reproduced on to cards. I was inspired to draw a magpie after watching a family of magpies that would visit by own garden on a regular basis. As I normally draw birds (and to keep with the Australian theme) I decided to base the butterfly on a "birdwing" butterfly (also native to Australia)
