Such a pretty parrot, I wanted to paint one ever since I got to see one up close at a wildlife park in Queensland. Native to inland regions of Australia, the pink cockatoo is one of Australia's most iconic bird species.
Well known for their pink feathers and beautiful yellow and orange crests, I enjoyed focusing on the feather patterns when painting this cockatoo in acrylic paint.
I think the lavender colour background against the pink feathers makes for a happy and playful painting (much like the personalities of cockatoos).
Painted on stretched canvas and framed in a natural Tasmanian blackwood frame (sustainably sourced plantation grown).
