This is a Splendid fairy-wren painted on a pine wood slice.
Native to Australia the splendid fairy-wren is a beautiful little bird that lives in groups that forage for food together. Painted here is a male with his bright blue feathers. A pretty combination with the natural wood.
Fitted with a hanger on the back, it’s ready to hang on your wall.
Approximately 20cm round (1.8cm thick).
About the wood: The wood is cut from young invasive pine species in Victoria to make way for Australian native trees. Before painting the falcon I have sealed the wood on all sides (including the edges) and then coated the acrylic painting with varnish to protect it.
Price includes postage within Australia.
